for transportation to and from Logan:
Arrival and Departure
Information
Participants arriving from outside the
United States should bring a valid passport and any other applicable
documentation. Visit the State Department website at www.state.gov
for more information.
Plan to arrive at Boston University for registration
between 3 and 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 23. A welcome dinner and opening
sessions will take place on Monday night.
The workshop concludes on Friday, July 27, at 12:30
p.m. Plan to remain through the closing session. Flights out of Boston
Logan Airport should be scheduled after 3:30 p.m on Friday. (Limited
on-campus accommodations are available for Friday, July 27, for participants
wishing to remain an extra night.)
Site
Boston University is minutes from the heart
of Boston. Sessions will be held in air-conditioned rooms located
a short walk from campus housing. Participants will have access
(small fee required) to the university’s new Fitness and Recreation
Center, which includes an 18,000 sq. ft. weight and cardio room,
two pools, racquetball and squash courts, gymnasiums, indoor track
and a 35’ climbing wall. On Thursday, July 26, everyone will
enjoy a night off-campus to explore the sites and flavors of Boston.
Accommodations
Boston University’s Student Residence at 10 Buick Street will
be our housing facility. This modern, air-conditioned apartment-style
residence consists of four-bedroom / two-bath suites complete with
living rooms and kitchens. All bedrooms are single occupancy. Participants
are given the option to either stay on campus or commute. Commuters
choosing to stay in a hotel are responsible for making their own housing
and travel arrangements and paying for their accommodations. Housing
at 10 Buick Street will fill up fast, so register early to guarantee
your space.
What to Bring/What to
Wear
Towels and bed linens will be provided.
The dress code is casual and comfortable — shorts, sneakers,
and sandals are appropriate workshop attire. Summer in the Boston
area can be hot and humid. A light sweater or jacket is a good idea
for those who find air-conditioned rooms chilly. Be sure to bring
your athletic clothing and equipment to take advantage of the terrific
facilities on and off campus.
