Transportation
Boston’s Logan International Airport is located just 8 miles
east of Boston University. There are several options for transportation
to and from Logan:

Taxi service is available from Logan. Fares to BU are approximately
$30. Shared van services cost substantially less. For van information,
please visit: www.massport.com

For those driving, parking is available at Boston University,
though fees will apply. Overnight parking passes are $40
per week;
and for the daily commuters, $24 per week.

Arrival and Departure Information
Participants arriving from outside the
United States should bring a valid passport and any other applicable
documentation. Visit the State Department website at www.state.gov
for more information.
Registration will be held from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
on Monday, July 21. Lunch will be served at noon, the opening session
will begin at 1:30 PM, followed by a reception and dinner at 5:30
PM. Those traveling long distances should plan to arrive on Sunday.
The
workshop concludes on Thursday, July 24,
at 5:00 p.m. Plan to remain through the closing session. Flights out
of Boston Logan Airport should be scheduled on Thursday evening after
7:00 PM or on Friday. Please Note: Registration with housing includes
a four-night stay: Monday thru Wednesday, and your choice of either
Sunday, July 20 or Thursday, July 24. This is to accommodate those
who must arrive early or stay a day later. You may choose to stay
both nights for an additional $75.
Site
Boston University is minutes from the
heart of Boston. Sessions will be held
in air-conditioned rooms located a short walk from campus housing.
Participants will have access (small fee required) to the university’s
Fitness and Recreation Center, which includes an 18,000 sq. ft. weight
and cardio room, two pools, racquetball and squash courts, gymnasiums,
indoor track and 35’ climbing wall.
Accommodations
Boston University’s Student Residence
at 10 Buick Street will be our housing facility. This modern, air-conditioned
apartment-style residence consists of four-bedroom, two-bath suites
complete with living rooms and kitchens. All bedrooms are single occupancy.
Participants are given the option to either stay on campus or commute.
Commuters choosing to stay in a hotel are responsible for making their
own housing and travel arrangements and paying for their accommodations.
Housing at 10 Buick Street will fill up fast, so register early to
guarantee your space.
What to Bring/What to Wear
Towels and bed linens will be provided.
The dress code is casual and comfortable — shorts, sneakers,
and sandals are appropriate workshop
attire. Summer in the Boston area can be hot and humid. A light
sweater or jacket is a good idea for those who find air-conditioned
rooms chilly. Be sure to bring your athletic clothing and equipment
to take advantage of the terrific facilities on and off campus.
