Career Training Academy

A specialized training partnership has been formed between Children's Community Pediatrics (CCP), a subsidiary of Children's Hospital of UPMC and Career Training Academy®. Students in the Medical Assistant Comprehensive program, who have a special interest in working with children, will have the opportunity to apply for a special practical learning experience via a CCP externship in an environment dedicated to quality care for children.

Successful graduates receive an Associate in Specialized Business (ASB) Degree. After completing the classroom portion of the program, students participate in a rewarding externship in a professional healthcare coding/billing environment. During the externship, students gain hands-on instruction in all aspects of medical billing and coding. This experience enables students to make a smooth transition from on-the-job training to a career in the healthcare administration workplace.

A Medical Massage and Research project is part of the career Advanced Bodyworker AST training program, where students are given the opportunity to work with clients with various medical conditions who may benefit from ongoing massage treatments. Receive an Associate in Specialized Technology (AST) Degree in Advanced Bodyworker and gain skills in the field of massage therapy, utilizing advanced bodywork modalities.

This program is offered at our Main Campus in New Kensington. After completing the classroom portion of the program, students participate in a rewarding externship in a professional Dental Office. During the externship, students gain hands-on instruction in all aspects of Dental Assisting. This experience enables students to make a smooth transition from on-the-job training to a career in the medical professional workplace.
