Colorado Technical University Online offers online degree programs in career-oriented fields ranging from business to health sciences to IT. The following is a summary of Colorado Technical University Online reviews submitted by former students. If quotes reference a specific campus or degree program, that has been indicated.
Colorado Technical Online University Review Highlights*
The majority of Colorado Technical University Online reviews were positive in nature. Students felt that most of the faculty was excellent and "the online CTU Cybrary has every credible resource available and the librarians are prompt with tons of information when you are unable to find what you need for any subject." Students found the coursework to be challenging but rewarding. Many students agree that online education may not be for everyone but "you must be self motivated to accomplish the course material and accept the challenge to overcome any obstacles that may come between you and a quality education."
A number of students were concerned about the administrative side of Colorado Technical University Online. One had problems when withdrawing from an academic program and another was dismissed for a slow rate of progress with only two classes remaining until the completion of his associate's degree. Several students mentioned that you must take a "buyer beware" attitude because the admissions counselors are basically sales people. In response, a student who had a mostly positive experience said, "And by the way, get everything in writing! I did and it paid off!! If the counselors at Colorado Technical University Online promise you anything, make sure they send it via an e-mail or document before you sign anything. It works like a charm!"
Other students noted that the 15 month promise for graduation required students to take a highly accelerated program, which wasn't made clear when they enrolled.
