The objective of the Clinical Massage Therapy Certificate program is for students to obtain the skills required by healthcare and personal service employers in a myriad of settings including salons, fitness centers, medical offices, hospitals, rehabilitation and chiropractic clinics, and resorts. Students will learn the basics of Swedish, sports and chair massage; anatomy; physiology; pathology; massage ethics; and more. Graduates may qualify for employment in a wide variety of settings, or they may even begin their own massage practices. Graduates of this program are eligible to sit for national certification through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).

Our trades programs aim to provide you with knowledge of the troubleshooting, repair, and safety skills required for specialized careers. Through group discussions, lectures, and hands-on laboratory experience with actual equipment, our program could help you train for success.

Our x-ray technician/back office medical assistant program provides a comprehensive curriculum offering back office medical assisting training with preparation for certification in order to increase job opportunities. You could learn chest, extremity, and torsoskeletal x-ray procedures, as well as a variety of back office/medical assisting skills. All training emphasizes effective techniques that provide protection for the patient and the technician. With the knowledge and skills you will obtain in our program, you will have the opportunity to seek various entry-level positions in a physician's office, chiropractic office, clinic, or full-service medical center. These jobs are available in private medical practices, corporate health care, and government services.

As a patient care assistant/technician, you can assist with the care of outpatients and inpatients suffering from a variety of diseases, injuries, and neurological and orthopedic problems. You may be called upon to walk patients to and from therapy with a gait belt, set up equipment for patient treatments, assist with community outings, and a variety of other duties. Our patient care assistant/technician program offers the knowledge, skills, and work habits that can prepare you for a rewarding future in health care. The required coursework in this program is approved for Certified Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aid exams monitored by the State of California. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be awarded a certificate. Individuals who complete this program may pursue employment opportunities such as ER technician, EKG technician, patient care technician, home health aide, certified nursing assistant, unit/ward clerk, and rehab aide. However, the College cannot guarantee your eligibility either to take this exam or become certified. Your eligibility may depend on your work experience, completion of high school (or its equivalent), not having a criminal record, meeting other licensure or certification requirements, or the program or College itself having appropriate accreditation or licensure.

Pharmacy technicians help licensed pharmacists provide medication and other health care products to patients. Their specific duties may include counting tablets, labeling bottles, and a variety of other duties that vary according to state rules and regulations. As a pharmacy technician you could work directly under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, preparing prescription medications for distribution to patients. You may be responsible for obtaining refill authorizations, transcribing doctors' orders, and processing insurance claims. Other daily activities may include assisting with quality management and security measures, maintaining patient profiles in a computerized database, and monitoring, ordering, and stocking inventory. Our program offers a combination of classroom lectures, lab training, and on-the-job externship experience.

Medical Coding involves recording designated codes in patients' medical records. Medical billing is vital to the smooth functioning of the medical office. Medical billers calculate the total amount due from a patient, prepare invoices to be sent out, and follow up to ensure that payment has been received. The curriculum includes classroom lectures and lab training in: health insurance including paperwork, legal issues, and insurance fraud and abuse; dental claims; general office procedures, including use of office machines, keyboarding and computer applications; and medical coding and terminology. Upon graduation, you will be able to seek entry-level employment in doctors' offices, clinics, hospitals, home health care services, nursing and residential care facilities, and insurance companies.

In our Dental Assistant Diploma program, your training will focus on a variety of clinical procedures you may perform on the job as you assist the dentist chairside during dental procedures. Learning how to take dental X-rays, sterilize instruments, set up trays for the dentist, perform four-handed dentistry, and take impressions of patients' teeth can help you as you prepare for success in the dental field.

Our Medical Office Specialist Certificate program is designed to give you real-world knowledge that you can apply to your career and everyday life. As a medical office specialist, your job is to keep the medical office running efficiently. The Registered Medical Assistant program includes instruction in both the clinical and administrative aspects of medical assisting, anatomy and physiology, and CPR certification. Students have the opportunity to practice the skills they learned in class during their externship. Graduates of this program may perform duties in both the administrative and clinical areas of a doctor's office, clinic, or other medical facilities. Specific duties may include assisting the physician with exams and minor surgery, administering medication, performing electrocardiographs, phlebotomy, minor laboratory procedures, and vital signs, interviewing patients for medical histories, medical record documentation, reception duties, insurance billing, and bookkeeping duties.

Health care and rehab therapy technicians assist directly and indirectly with the delivery of physical therapy services to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist. The objective of the program is to provide you with the in-depth knowledge, skills, and work habits required so you can pursue entry-level employment in settings such as private practice offices, clinics, acute and subacute care hospitals, assisted living facilities, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and rehab centers, chiropractic clinics, schools, and patient homes. The program offers diverse front office training, multiple hands-on rehab courses, general nursing skills including clinical experience, phlebotomy including glucometer testing, and pediatric care. A diploma from our program can allow you to work with inpatients and outpatients who have a variety of diseases, injuries, and neurological or orthopedic problems.

Our holistic health practitioner program takes an integrated approach to health and wellness with skills and techniques in the field of mind/body healing. This is accomplished by providing the knowledge and skills that fuse ancient Eastern natural healing systems with Western medicine. Some of the techniques and skills you will learn include acupuncture, massage and aromatherapy, and biofeedback. These methods are meant to treat patients' mental and spiritual health in addition to their physical health.
