The Business Office Administration program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the modern office environment that includes computer and basic accounting skills.
The program includes training in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and selected accounting software. In addition, students learn accounting principles, payroll procedures, standard office procedures, verbal communication techniques, human resource management procedures, introduction to business law and marketing, customer service techniques, business English, medical terminology, and business mathematics.
The program is divided into modules. Students must complete all modules, beginning with any module and continuing in sequence until all modules are successfully completed. For most students, completion of the Computerized Office/Accounting program requires 36 weeks in length.
Using the skills acquired in this training program, graduates may be eligible for entry-level positions in the following occupations: accounts payable/receivable clerk, accounting clerk, inventory control clerk, payroll clerk, assistant financial manager, general office clerk, receptionist, office assistant, administrative assistant, bookkeeper, customer service representative, or clerical assistant.
