The Business Office Administration program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the modern office environment that includes computer and basic accounting skills.

The program includes training in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and selected accounting software. In addition, students learn accounting principles, payroll procedures, standard office procedures, verbal communication techniques, human resource management procedures, introduction to business law and marketing, customer service techniques, business English, medical terminology, and business mathematics.

The program is divided into modules. Students must complete all modules, beginning with any module and continuing in sequence until all modules are successfully completed. For most students, completion of the Computerized Office/Accounting program requires 36 weeks in length.

Using the skills acquired in this training program, graduates may be eligible for entry-level positions in the following occupations: accounts payable/receivable clerk, accounting clerk, inventory control clerk, payroll clerk, assistant financial manager, general office clerk, receptionist, office assistant, administrative assistant, bookkeeper, customer service representative, or clerical assistant.

This program teaches the knowledge, competencies, and technical skills needed for entry-level positions in medical establishments. This course focuses on basic human anatomy, medical terminology, medical front office procedures, and submission of medical claims, managed care, insurance reimbursement, procedure and diagnostic coding; it provides a thorough understanding of all phases of billing and collection procedures for insurance carriers; students are taught to manage accounts receivables for a medical office including tracing a medical claim, appealing low payments, patient accounts, and preparing an account for collection; in-depth training on processing Workers Compensation claims, Personal Injury, Medicare, and Medi-Cal; and additional topics including HIPAA, CMS and OSHA. The program is divided into seven modules and externship. Students must complete all modules, starting with any module and continuing in sequence until all seven modules are successfully completed. Students participate in an externship only upon successful completion of all academic requirements.

At Newbridge College San Diego East our Pharmacy Technician program, along with our Medical Assistant San Diego and Dental Assistant San Diego programs, is an 8-month course designed to fully prepare pharmacy students to compete and succeed in the San Diego pharmacy career field. Our students receive training on basic human anatomy, chemical processes in the human body, the chemical makeup of medicines, and an overall understanding of the scientific processes behind medicinal application. Our students will learn the critical awareness of medicine distribution, quantities, frequencies, and potential side effects. In addition, our Pharmacy Technician program will focus on the relationship between a pharmacist, the patients' doctor's office and insurance companies, ensuring our students are capable of communicating with various other medical offices effectively.

As a graduate of our Pharmacy Technician program, you will receive a diploma, allowing you to compete for jobs in pharmacies, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies. Having a certification as a Pharmacy Technician in San Diego will open doors in this faced-paced field and provide the opportunity for a stable, well-paid, and satisfying career for years to come.

This 8-month (30-week) Diploma Program uses training in both the classroom and clinical setting. You will graduate with the knowledge and skills to perform laboratory tests under supervision from Laboratory Managers. Our graduates receive a 'Clinical Laboratory Assistant' Diploma and Phlebotomy Certificate of Completion.

Start a rewarding career by becoming a key member of the Surgical Team in a Hospital, Outpatient Surgical Center, Clinic, Urgent-care Facility, or a private Surgeons Office. As a key member of the Surgical Team you work closely with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, and Registered Nurses and others to:

• Prepare the OR with sterilized instruments, equipment, fluids, and supplies
• Deliver critical patient care before, during, and after surgery
• Manage Surgeon needs, passing them instruments and monitoring equipment

This 15-month (62-week) Diploma Program is in-classroom and in-clinic, where students complete an externship after passing their academic requirements. On graduating you receive the Diploma of Surgical Technology and are eligible to sit the National Certifying Examination, administered by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technology. This course is also accredited with CAAHEP.

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Program at Newbridge College provides students with the technical knowledge and clinical skills necessary to potentially gain entry-level employment as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Ultrasound Tech working with ultrasound equipment in medical clinics, imaging centers, hospitals, mobile imaging services and other medical facilities.

In this fast growing profession; our graduates enjoy careers at HMOs, Medical Clinics, Doctors Offices, Chiropractors Offices, and Rehabilitation Centers. This program prepares you as a Medical Assistant for Clinical and Administrative capacity. This 8-month (30-week) Program builds your fundamental knowledge and understanding of basic human anatomy and common pathology; learn the use of Medical Terminology as it relates to the clinical environment; and become skilled in routine diagnostic laboratory procedures, assisting in routine patient examinations and surgical procedures, and understand the administration of medications, as well as your legal and ethical responsibilities. Graduates receive a Medical Assistant Diploma, EKG Certificate, Injection Certificate, and CPR health care provider level; Graduates are also eligible to take the examination for Certification by the California Medical Assistant Association.

At Newbridge College San Diego East our-Dental Assistant program is an 8-month course in which students are thoroughly prepared to enter the field of dental medicine.

Our Dental Assistant students will engage in a course of study that includes basic human anatomy, the structure of the human mouth and cranium, and basic medicine administration. It will focus on the intricacies of dental work, procedural techniques, patient treatment, and more. Our students will be well-trained in the areas of tooth formation, healthy and unhealthy dental samples, dental x-ray procedures and safety, tooth and gum decay, as well as common preventative maintenance and restorative care.

As a Dental Assistant in the San Diego area, you will have the opportunity to learn to work along dentists, assisting in routine dental visits and surgical procedures in order to prepare you to transition into this exciting career field. San Diego Dental Assistants are always in-demand, as our county is expanding and the level of and need for dental care increases. All graduates will receive a diploma in Dental Assistance, which will enable them to apply for positions in dental offices, hospitals, oral surgery facilities, and more.
