The online MA in Bilingual/ESL program explores perspectives on human growth and development, cultural diversity, the history and politics of bilingual education, along with practical strategies for teaching science, social studies and math in Spanish. During a one-semester practicum, candidates will spend time in a bilingual setting and prepare instruction for English language learners. Applicants must demonstrate a proficiency in Spanish by passing the Texas Oral Proficiency Test. A teaching certificate is not required for admission into this master’s program, and the GRE is waived for candidates with a minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA.
