Virginia College Review Highlights*
Many students call Virginia College "reasonably priced" and "a little more laid back" than traditional college classes usually are. The instructors are thought to be "quite knowledgeable" while any problems seem to be handled promptly by the student success representative or the admission representative. Another student commented that "technical issues" had improved and were due to the "growth of the program," writing, "When I started two and a half years ago VCO had less than 200 students. I understand that enrollment now exceeds 4000 students and is continuing to grow. That's going to cause growing pains in any organization."
Some students have expressed concern about Virginia College. There have been comments about difficulty in dealing with teachers, but those complaints seem to be balanced by quick resolution of the problems. "For the most part, I have also had a good experience with the instructors. Most are very helpful and understanding. I have had a couple that did not participate in discussions or return emails promptly but they were definitely in the minority."
Virginia College Student Testimonials and Quotes
Here are a few other comments taken from students' Virginia College Reviews:
- "You have to be on top of your school work. My first semester was pretty easy but my second semester was a little difficult. I have a 3.1 GPA. I try to maintain my grades. I am a mother of 5. If I can maintain my grades anyone can. You have to be dedicated to going online 4-5 times a week and a minimum of 12 hrs a week." -Jakara P.
- "I have been attending [Virginia College] since April of 2009, and have never had any problems with the instructors or the advisor. Any time I have a question i can call and the problem is immediately resolved. As for the money from the grants or loans, it depends on how you filled out your paperwork. I attended another school back in 2004 and I will say [Virginia College] is the best." -Carolyn W.
- "I have been a student for almost 3 yrs and I have loved it!. . . I am a military wife so I get a discount. I pay 180 per credit hour and that includes all of my books. You can't get a better deal than that these days! I hope this helps all of you thinking about [Virginia College] because this is the school to go to." -Dena S.
