Massachusetts has consistently enjoyed higher personal incomes per person, as well as an unemployment rate lower than the national average. Even in light of an economic downturn, projections from the Massachusetts Department of Labor, found that Massachusetts' economy should remain profitable and increase by 6.3 percent between 2006 and 2016.
