Consultants and
independent boarding schools work together
in the interest of the students whom they serve. The following principles,
founded upon mutual trust and respect, guide their professional relationship.
Consultants working with schools
- Consultants recognize that effective professional relationships
are characterized by a shared commitment to the needs of each individual
student, to collaboration and to open,
honest, full communication.
- Consultants acquire current information and understanding about
the schools to which they refer students.
- Consultants seek to provide appropriate options for the needs
and talents of each individual student when recommending schools
to families.
- Consultants foster positive relationships between families and
schools based upon mutual trust and respect.
- Consultants respect that it is the school’s responsibility
to make admission decisions.
Schools working with consultants
- Schools recognize that effective professional relationships are
characterized by a shared commitment to the needs of each individual
student, to collaboration and to open, honest, full communication.
- Schools accurately represent information to consultants regarding
current programs, philosophies, policies
and practices as they relate to each individual student.
- Schools thoughtfully assess their capacity to meet the needs and
talents of individual students.

based upon mutual trust and respect.
