The College Board released its annual SAT report in September, which showed that while the number of test takers increased nationwide, average scores are down slightly across the country. SAT scores declined six points from 2010 to 2011, to a national average of 1500 (out of 2400).

While scores may be down nationwide, some states were big winners in 2011. Illinois saw its average test score jump 45 points. In Alabama, on the other hand, scores dropped 26 points.

So how does your state stack up when it comes to the SAT--and furthermore, what can you do about it? Learn more in the below infographic.
